This notation is pretty simple; dark circles mean covered holes; empty circles mean uncovered holes; a '+' below means to blow harder to get the upper octave; a '#' below means this note is too low for the whistle chosen and you'll have to fake it :) The author of this program always plays accidentals by closing holes, so you'll never see half-covered holes.
When I was starting, I found notation like this to be very helpful, and I know plenty of people who have trouble reading music who find this notation easier. Good luck!

The Winnipeg Whore My first trip up the Saginaw River, My first trip to the Canada shore, There I met sweet Rosie O'Grady, Better known as the Winnipeg Whore. "Come right in, I'm glad to see you, Slap your ass across my knee, We will have some fun together, Dollar and a half will be my fee." Some were dancin', some were prancin', Some lay drunk on the barroom floor, But there I was in the northeast corner, Screwin' hell out of the Winnipeg Whore. Then, in there walked some sons 'a' bitches, Must have been a score or more, Oughta seen me shit my britches, Slidin' my ass out the whorehouse door.
